VLAmax can be looked at from two different sides. From one side, a low VLamax would increase your anaerobic threshold, your fat combustion and it would shorten your recovery time from hard efforts.

What is INSCYD?

A tool for analyzing endurance performance in athletes. INSCYD gives you a full metabolic performance profile including aerobic capacity, glycolytic capacity, anaerobic threshold, energy cost of locomotion, fuel contribution (Fat vs. Carbohydrate), lactate accumulation & recovery, aerobic vs. anaerobic energy contribution and many more performance metrics. The results are as good as if you’d been tested in the most advanced human performance labs.

What’s involved?

We will test you using INSCYD’s Power Performance Decoder (PPD) protocols. Using your powermeter you will work through a series of critical power tests. As long as your powermeter is accurate and calibrated the data can be collected remotely in the field. The sensitivity of the algorithms within INSCYD are robust and the accuracy of analysis is on a par with the best metabolic carts used in high quality, human performance labs.

Why do I need testing?

Once we’ve received your data we can create your full performance profile. With this information you (or your coach) will be able to prescribe much more specific and focused training. INSCYD will provide you with a comprehensive look at the layers of your physiology that enable your actual performance. It will explain how your performance is composed. Are you an anaerobic athlete or a great fat burner? Are your strengths short explosive efforts or longer steady state work? Are you accessing the highest percentage of your VO2 when working at FTP? All of these questions can be answered and more importantly give you an understanding of what to change and what you need to improve upon.
