Ride London Training Video for Indoor Cycling Workouts – Download Version

There is no other closed-road event like Ride London that combines the fun and accessible element of a free family ride in central London with the excitement of watching the world’s best professional cyclists race in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic and Prudential RideLondon Grand Prix.

Amateur cyclists also participate in the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 (a 100-mile challenge on the same closed roads as the professionals), with the added incentive of raising money for good causes. Success Cycling were there with our GoPro cameras capturing all the action from inside the sportive to bring you an outstanding virtual ride training experience.

The route of the Ride London Training Video starts from Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London, cyclists head past Canary Wharf and through the City of London before cycling west along Piccadilly and the A4 at Hammersmith. Riders first cross the River Thames at Chiswick and pass through Richmond Park and the heart of Kingston-upon-Thames, before crossing Hampton Court Bridge along the route made famous by both the road race and time-trial events during the London 2012 Olympic Games. There’s plenty of stunning Surrey countryside on offer as cyclists head south past Newlands Corner, Abinger Hammer and Holmbury St Mary before tackling the biggest ascent on the route at Leith Hill. After a well-earned descent towards Dorking, it’s onto the next challenge: the world-famous zig-zags of Box Hill. After heading north through Leatherhead, Oxshott and Esher the route takes riders back into London through Kingston and over Putney Bridge to cross the River Thames for a final time. The route then follows the Embankment all the way alongside the Thames, heading past some of London’s most famous landmarks as it makes its way across Parliament Square and up Whitehall. The route then swings left at Trafalgar Square, with riders streaming under Admiralty Arch before a spectacular finish on The Mall.

Probably my favourite. I love it because you feel like you’re there and part of the bunch when training to this. Like the others I’ve used, nice and easy to work with and another great soundtrack. If you do this right it’s a brilliant workout.

Very enjoyable as I live in Surrey where it all happens and have never done Ride London for real. I have plenty of other video rides that I use on my computrainer, a lot of which are solo rides. so this ride with cyclists around me takes it to an extra level of feeling I am participating. I converted the effort levels displayed on screen to a workout so that the power required is automatically adjusted for me. My one gripe is that bits of the ride had to be cut out to keep the time down to 1 hour 49; next time please can it be the complete ride even if spread over a few DVDs. But many thanks for providing fantastic fun/training!
